Does purge signet work well on a boon-prot? I've been experimenting with it, and it seems that as long as you use it after switching to your low energy set when you don't have high/max energy it can be an extremely efficient way of taking care of hex/condition stacks. Just wondering what the better monkers here think about it.

swapping focuses is pretty smart but still a 3 sec cast time is killer.

I've found that, if it were any good, it would be in use already. Might want to reconsider, seeing as though purge signet usually brings laughs and flames with it.

If your're under heavy fire as a Monk with lots of conditions and hexes on you, you probably don't have 3 seconds to stand still and use it. If you weren't close to death and were using it a shock,gale or distracting shot would probably come your way anyways.

Not really, it's a damn strong skill since the buff. The ability to remove all conditions and hexes off someone for effectively 0 energy is fairly awesome.

If it didn't have the 3 second cast time I would probably use it a hell of a lot myself. As it is; it's basicly only really suitable for a non-monk support character, if you can afford the slots. As it stands I think Draw Conditions/Convert is a more efficient combination, but that in no way means I think Purge Signet is bad.

Thanks for the replys. Also, do you know any top guilds that run purge sig? I was wondering if it would be possible to watch good players using it.

There is just nothing good about it imo. I suppose it would be nice if you were using Focus Swapping and ended up with 0 energy, but yeah its cast time is ridiculously long. At least reduce it to 2 seconds and make it reasonable.

Purge Signet's long cast time will really hamper you as a boon prot, but it's awesome on an off monk.

If you think of Purge Signet as a free Convert that takes 50% longer to interrupt (and goes through shame, mesmer interrupts, etc.), then it starts to look a lot better. The ability to un-hex-stack anyone for free? I'll take that, thanks.

If you're under heavy fire as a monk with all that crap on you, then the proper procedure is for you to kite like mad until someone throws enough prots on you for you to stop kiting and clear your hexes.

In fact, if you're under heavy fire and *don't* have all that crap on you, then you should kite and let the other monks handle the healing/protting.

edit: purge signet can also be ninja-cancelled for free to fake out ranger interrupters.
